Dear friends of music,

We are delighted to present you again the following concert in cooperation with Liedwelt Rheinland:

Immersion and emergence – water as an element inspiring music

A visual song recital for voice, piano and live visuals

Since ancient times, the sea has been a “place of the soul” where people can heal themselves physically and mentally. It is a place of fascination, but also of mystery and longing. As perhaps nowhere else, at the sea man is confronted with the feeling of infinity, also with the consciousness of his own littleness and finiteness. On the other hand, many characteristics of the seascape have an extremely inspiring effect on the human spirit. The sea becomes a place that fires the imagination and where all possibilities are open.

Thanks to this rich range of feelings and perspectives, the sea has been a favorite object of the arts since time immemorial and in every culture. Generations of painters have endeavored to paint the ephemeral sea.

For centuries, the sea has also been a symbol of infinity, freedom, but also of uncertainty and mystery. Nowadays this intensifies at the moment when we look at what is happening in the Mediterranean. The anthropological ritual of crossing borders, the crossing of the unknown, is considered by the program “Ultramarine” from an aesthetic and philosophical perspective. This happens every day in the Mediterranean in a very concrete and painful way. Thus, the meaning of the sea, a place that carries in itself danger of death and life saving, despair and hope, but in which the greatest solidarity and human love also unfold.

Look forward with us again to a wonderful listening pleasure!
