Dear friends of music and art,

It is a great honor for us to welcome the two musicians Mariya Miliutsina and Yuich Sasaki to the Musikstudio, who invite us acoustically to the court of Louis XIV:

Concert Royal
Louis XIV, the most powerful ruler of his time and a passionate dancer, was a great friend of the theater and music. His reign marked a flowering of the arts; his court at Versailles was home to numerous musicians who set the musical fashion throughout Europe. The music played at court, however, was not necessarily large-scale. In addition to large opera and ballet performances, chamber music was highly valued. The program presents works in which the most discreet and intimate sounds can be heard. With the delicate lute and traverse flute tones, the music offers a reflection of the atmosphere of a royal concert to the listener.

Mariya Miliutsina, born in Vitebsk (Belarus), has been invited as a soloist and chamber music player to festivals such as Early Music Festival Knechtsteden and others and has performed in concert halls such as Beethoven Haus Bonn, Schloß Benrath Düsseldorf, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall Moscow.

Mariya Miliutsina, an experienced chamber musician, is highly appreciated far beyond the Cologne area. She has performed in various chamber music ensembles. Mariya Miliutsina completed her training in transverse flute at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Dance Cologne with Prof. Leonard Schelb.

Yuichi Sasaki was born in Japan and started playing the guitar at the age of 11. Among others, he took lessons with Masaki Kikuchi. Since 2012, he first studied with Aniello Desiderio and Hubert Käppel at the International Koblenz Guitar Academy.

He then moved to the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where he studied lute with Prof. Konrad Junghänel from 2016 to 2018. Since October 2018, Sasaki has been studying lute with Prof. David Bergmüller.
