We are delighted to welcome back pianist DongYang Xing:
Born in 1999, pianist DongYang Xing graduated with top marks from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Turin (Italy) under Marina Scalafiotti.
He has won first prize in numerous competitions, including Concorso di Stresa, concorso di Moncalieri, concorso di Spineto, concorso “Palma d’Oro”, concorso “Giovani Interpreti” and concorso “Giovannini”. Recently, he was awarded the special prize at the “Euregio Piano Award 2023”, second prize at the international piano competition “Paolo Neglia” in Enna (Italy) and the special prize for the best interpretation of a 20th century work at the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” in Florence.
In the course of his career, DongYang has joined: “MITO” September Music Milan, “Unione Musicale” Turin, “European Music Institute Vienna” , “Teatro Regio” Turin and “Accademia di Pinerolo”. He has also been invited to perform by “LabMusica” Cortemilia (Italy), “Goethe Institut” Turin, “associazione Ars et Labor” Perugia and “Conservatorio di Torino”. He has taken part in many masterclasses, including with: Joaquìn Achùcarro, Alexander Madzar, Michel Beroff, Nelson Dellevigne-Fabbri, Andreas Staier, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Fabio Bidini, Andrea Lucchesini, Edoardo Torbianelli and Christa Butsberger.
Other important successes include the concerto for piano and orchestra by Grieg, which he played for the 2018 concert season of the Turin Conservatory, participation in the complete performance of Scarlatti’s sonatas at the Naples Conservatory in 2019 and the complete performance of Chopin’s Etudes at the “Gabriele Paqué Galerie” in Bonn in 2020.
In 2022 he completed his Master’s degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Prof. Sheila Arnold. Since 2023, he has been doing a second master’s degree in historical instruments with Prof. Gerald Hambitzer and piano concert exam at the Detmold University of Music with Prof. Alfredo Perl.
The vernissage of the collective exhibition of Georgian artists Makrine Tkebuchava, Mama Andria Natsvlishvili, Mikhael Makharadze and Natia Bekauri will take place at the same time. Further information on the exhibition can be found here.
