Dear music lovers,

On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the concert of Gotthard Kladetzky took place, a pianist who honored the studio for the second time with an appearance. On this day, Kladetzky devoted himself entirely to the work of Franz Liszt, which promised to be both an exciting and a demanding program in advance. Kladetzky presented very different and fascinating pieces with technical sophistication and great aural and emotional empathy.

Gotthard Kladetzky, born in Cologne, studied piano in his hometown at the University of Music and Dance and finished his studies with a concert exam. During his studies and afterwards he took many years of lessons with the world-famous pianist Claudio Arrau. From 1975 to 1982 he was a teacher at the Engelbert Humperdinck Music School in Siegburg, where he frequently appeared as a pianist. He has been teaching at the Moers Music School since 1978, and at the HfMT Cologne since 1982, and has since become known to many people of Moerser and Siegburg through his concerts. The cyclical performances of the piano works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms and Ravel are still being appreciated by music lovers world-wide.
He also performed in many other cities in Germany and Europe, as well as in South Africa and recorded over 20 CDs. His most important performances were in the Great Hall and the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic as well as in the Town Hall in Cape Town
Since 1980, Gotthard Kladetzky has been a member of the German Music Association (Deutscher Tonkünstler Verband) and its West German predecessor VDMK and is, for more than 25 years, a member of the board and most recently chairman of the district Bonn / Rhein-Sieg. In this function he is active in numerous specialist groups and especially as a juror at “Jugend musiziert”.
