Dear friends of music,

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that Knut Hanßen was awarded the Beethoven-Ring by the Bürgern für Beethoven e. V. (Citizens for Beethoven) by its chairman Dr. Stephan Eisel on June 12, 2022 for his outstanding musical achievements.

Of course, this created the perfect occasion for Knut Hanßen to delight the visitors with a concert in which, in addition to Johannes Brahms and Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven could of course be heard in particular. For those who are interested in the circumstances of this award ceremony, we can highly recommend this article in the General Anzeiger (in German).

If you’ve been following the concerts at the Musikstudio a bit, you’ll notice that Knut Hanßen and the Musikstudio have been musically connected for more than a decade. Our earliest photo of him is from 2014, where he was a young student in Prof. Sheila Arnold’s class giving concerts. But his first performance was actually 3 years earlier, on 07/03/2011, and we were already sure then that this would certainly not be his only performance. Numerous concerts followed, sometimes as a soloist and sometimes with accompaniment, which to this day send audiences into pure ecstasy. In the meantime, Knut and the Musikstudio are not only connected on the performance level, but also on the pedagogical one, in that he has also graced the Musikstudio (with small interruptions) as a piano teacher since 2019. You can find more information about his teaching work with us here.

It is therefore an even greater pleasure for us to see our friend and companion of the Musikstudio honored in such a (well-deserved) way!

We look forward to many more exciting concerts with you and to continue to accompany you on your journey through life!
