The Arcangelo Trio

In the spring of 2001, the flutist Daniel Rothert, cellist Markus Möllenbeck and harpsichordist Gerald Hambitzer founded the ARCANGELO TRIO on the initiative of Helmut Müller-Brühl, in order to build on an ensemble tradition with illustrious role models such as Franz Brüggen, Anner Bylsma and Gustav Leonardt or Gustav Scheck, August Wenzinger and Fritz Neumeyer. Rothert, Möllenbeck and Hambitzer – already well-known and successful names in the music scene – began to develop the repertoire of this almost classically appointed chamber music ensemble, which also encompasses an extensive period from the late 16th to the mid-18th century , The successful debut took place in August 2001 in the gallery of the castle Brühl. Since then, the Arcangelo Trio regularly performs with great success, including at a WDR night music live on WDR 3, at the Handel Festival in Halle and also with the actress Martina Gedeck in a reading in the Bonn Federal Art Hall with lyrics and music from Venice from the 16th and 17th century. The program “Händel’s Italian Journey” will be released as a CD this spring at the company Aulos.

I am looking forward to your visit!

Sincerely,
Gabriele Paqué
