Perhaps last year in July, you were fortunate enough to hear this outstanding pianist when she performed in the Beethoven Chamber Music Hall as part of the International Kreutzer Competition, receiving an excellent review in General Anzeiger.
If this is not the case, then today you have the opportunity to experience Joanna Sochacka in the Musikstudio! With works by B. Bartók, F. Chopin and of course L. v. Beethoven this afternoon will be a real pleasure!

Joanna Sochacka – at the moment she is studying at Haute École de Musique de Genève with Fabrizio Chiovetta, and she is completing her Doctoral Studies at the Academy of Music named of K.G. Bacewicz in Lodz with Hanna Holeksa. She finished studies at the Academy of Music in Cracow with Andrzej Pikul (diploma with distinction).
She has already been a very successful performing artist. So far she played in such countries as Israel, France, Switzerland, Austria, USA, Moldova, Estonia, Italy, Spain, England, Czech Republic and Germany. She played in many renowned concert halls in Poland and abroad, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, Sala cu’Orga in Moldova, Liszt Concert Hall in Raiding, National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Philharmonic Hall in Lodz, Philharmonic Hall in Kielce, Philharmonic Hall in Cracow, Villa Atma in Zakopane, Frederic Chopin Museum at Tamka in Warsaw. She regularly takes part in many international piano festivals including International Piano Festival in Cracow, Festival ,, August of Talents” in Katowice, Festival ,,Summer Music” in Przemysl, Festival ,, Chopin Evenings” in Warsaw.
Joanna is a laureate of many international and national piano competitions, including the IV International Piano Competition ,,Ischia’’ in Naples, Italy (II prize), Golden Classical Music Awards in New York (II prize), International Chopin Piano Competition in Szafarnia (III prize), Grand Prize Virtuoso London (I prize), the Emma Altberg Competition in Lodz (I prize), the International Chopin Competition in Narva, Estonia (distinction and special prize), the International Moritz Moszkowski Piano Competition in Kielce (II prize), the International Juliusz Zarębski Competition in Warsaw (II prize), the Halina Czerny-Stefańska Chopin Piano Competiton in Cracow (I prize) and the International Piano Competition in Castellana Grotte, Italy (I prize), Academy Concerto Competition in Cracow (I prize and debut with Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra).
She has been awarded grants by many scholarship foundations, from 2008 to 2012 she was supported by the Polish National Fund for Talented Children. She received several ,,Sapere auso” prizes for talented musicians (2009, 2010, 2011, 2016), Dartington Trust Scholarship (2007, 2013), scholarship from Institute of Adam Mickiewicz (2010), Julian Cochran Foundation (2019), Rita Zimmermann Musik-Stiftung (2019). She received scholarships for very prestigious masterclasses including Music Festival ,,Music Summer” in Dartington (2013), International Piano Masterclasses in Malaga(2015), and Tel Hai Piano Masterclasses in Israel (2017).
Furthermore she took part in many masterclasses and honed her skills under many outstanding teachers, including Dmitrij Bashkirov, Jura Margulis, Jean Marc Luisada, Dina Yoffe, Anna Malikova, Kevin Kenner Tatiana Zelikman, Ronan O’Hora, Victor Derevianko, Daniel Blumenthal, Aquiles delle Vigne, Janusz Olejniczak, Akiko Ebi, Paul Badura-Skoda, Victor Derevianko, Tamas Ungar, Joaquín Soriano, Ralf Nattkemper, Andrzej Jasinski, Piotr Paleczny, Stanisław Tichonow, Uta Wayand, Waldemar Wojtal, Vida Vujic, Martino Tirimo, Konstanze Eickhorst and Tamara Stefanovich, Carlos Cebro, Elza Kolodin, Lilja Zilberstein.
