Dear friends of music and art,

we are very pleased to introduce the duo consisting of the guitarist Veronika Mushkina and the flutist Franziska Jaschke.

The duo Jaschke&Mushkina is made up of two young musicians who met at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. The duo has performed in various concert halls throughout Germany and takes part in international competitions. The colourful programme covers various epochs and ranges from the Renaissance to modern music, both in arrangements and original compositions for flute and guitar.

Veronika Mushkina, born in 1993 in Nizhniy Novgorod (Russia), began her musical education at the age of five on the piano at the music school in Dzerzhinsk. At the age of ten, she switched to classical guitar and graduated with distinction from the Music College in Dzerzhinsk in 2011.
In 2017, the young guitarist received the Deutschlandstipendium and took part in various guitar festivals, such as the “Koblenz International Guitar Festival” and the “Viva la Guitarra! Festival in Düsseldorf. She has won prizes in international competitions in Russia, Serbia, Italy and Spain. Since 2019, she has received funding from Live Music Now Rhein-Ruhr.
She performs with various chamber music ensembles at home and abroad and knows how to pass on her love of the guitar to students. She is currently studying guitar in the master’s programme at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf with Prof. Alexander-Sergei Ramirez.

Franziska Jaschke, born Föllmer on 22.07.1992 in Krefeld, received her first flute lessons at the Krefeld Music School, after which she was allowed to complete her junior studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf with Prof. Evelin Degen and completed her master’s degree with Prof. André Sebald in 2019. During her studies she was an intern at the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, an academician at the opera in Halle (Saale) and played as an honorary substitute in the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn and the WDR Radio House Orchestra Cologne, for example.
In the field of chamber music she won several competitions, such as 1st prize at the international Kuhlau competition. She continues to play as an honorary substitute in various professional orchestras and is expanding her repertoire in chamber music ensembles. Most recently, she made a guest appearance with the Sinfonietta Vivazza.
For the young artist, passing on her passion for music is just as important as making her own music. Thus, she taught at the municipal music school in Datteln from January 2020 to December 2021 and has had a permanent position at the municipal music school in Mönchengladbach since January 2022.

This concert is also the musical prelude to the exhibition opening of the Ukrainian artist Alina Khrapchynska. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
