Dear friends of music and art,

we are very pleased to introduce you to the guitarist Missael Fragoso.

Born in Mexico, guitarist Missael Fragoso studied at the Escuela Superior de Música de la Ciudad de México (INBA) under the artistic direction of Ernesto García de León and in 2014 he graduated with honors in music. In 2015, he continued his studies in Germany. He took up postgraduate studies in music performance at the Robert Schumann University. After 2 years, he earned a Master’s degree in Music Performance under the guidance of Professor Alexander-Sergei Ramirez. In 2021, he expanded his musical qualifications and passed another postgraduate concert exam with distinction. With this, he achieved the highest degree in a music degree with honors.

“Missael is a generous guitarist. There are many qualities I could highlight in this artist, whom I admire greatly and whose concerts I enjoy very much, but I truly believe that when a musician faces life with magnanimity, the sonorous result of his work makes light appear where there was none before.” Paramo, Emilio. La Lira del Ángel. Milenio Newspaper, July 9, 2012, 33

During his studies, Missael Fragoso received scholarships from the Mexican Ministry of Culture in the categories of “FOECAH Artistic Group Development” (2009/10) and “Individual Artistic Development” (2011/12). In the national competition of the guitar ensemble “Felipe Villanueva”, his duo Yo-ho B-ida won the first honorary prize in the 2010 edition. He was also a scholarship recipient of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for musical talent and achievement in 2015 and 2017.

Missael Fragoso accompanies various interdisciplinary artistic projects (singing, dance theater, contemporary dance, radio works, short films and poetry works) and performs mainly in Europe and Latin America. Parallel to his work as a concert guitarist, Missael Fragoso is pedagogically engaged as a music teacher at the Music School of the State Capital of Hannover.

At the same time, the finissage of the exhibition of the Ukrainian artist Alina Khrapchynska will take place. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
