Dear music lovers,

It is a great honour for us to welcome the AENEAS ENSEMBLE LONDON to the Musikstudio. It was founded in 2018 by the two violinists Julia Dräger and Sylvia Eisermann, who both come from Germany, and the pianist and organist Jonathan Booth.

We can expect an exciting programme with works ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to Grażyna Bacewicz, which will take us on a musical journey from the 18th to the 20th century.

Further information about the musicians and the programme can be found below.

Sylvia Eisermann (violin) is a member of the Bavarian State Orchestra and has played under the baton of famous conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur and Kirill Petrenko. Sylvia has toured with her orchestra through countries such as Japan, Oman, Abu Dhabi and India. She has also played as a guest with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra Dublin and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Sylvia was born in Munich and completed her training at the Mannheim University of Music, where she studied with Wanda Wilkomirska. She graduated with honours and continued her studies with Lewis Kaplan in New York. Sylvia is a passionate chamber musician; she is the violinist of the Vuillaume Trio Munich, an award-winning piano trio.

Julia Dräger (violin) was born in Braunschweig. She graduated from the renowned Mannheim University of Music and subsequently studied with Prof Franciszek Jurys at the Darmstadt University of Music. She actively participated in international masterclasses for violin and chamber music with Alexander Arenkow, Klara Flieder, Winfried Rademacher and Roman Nodel. Julia has also played with the International Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under famous conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Kurt Sanderling and Semyon Bychkov as well as with the Jeunesses Musicales under the direction of Dennis Russell Davies. She has been a sought-after violin teacher in the London borough of Richmond (UK) for many years. She also plays in project orchestras in London, Tuscany and Braunschweig.

Jon Booth (piano) studied music in Sheffield with Peter Hill, an internationally recognised pianist and musicologist, and then at Kings College London, where he graduated with distinction. For many years he balanced music with his work as a senior civil servant. Among other things, he worked for the Prime Minister of Great Britain in 2005. Today he combines his work as a pianist with performance coaching for talented young musicians and teaches maths at St Richard Reynolds Catholic College in Twickenham, UK. He is also in great demand as an instrumental and choral accompanist on the piano and organ. Jon is the official piano accompanist for the Richmond and Kingston Music Festivals and is a member of the Royal Society of Arts.
