Dear friends of music and art,
we are very pleased to present you the two musicians Georg Brinkmann (clarinet) and Marc Jaquet (piano).
Georg Brinkmann is known as a versatile musician. Besides classical music and accompanying storytellers, he has made a name for himself as a clarinetist in the klezmer scene. With the group “huljet” he won the cultural promotion award of the city of Fürth. He has toured worldwide with various projects. He taught at international festivals, is artistic director of the Bonn Klezmer Days and founder of “klezmerbonn”, an initiative that organizes music and dance events in Bonn.
Marc Jaquet studied church music in Cologne and completed his organ concert exam with Prof. Arvid Gast in Lübeck. From 2008 to 2016, he was cantor of the Reformationskirche in Cologne-Bayenthal and has been cantor of the Lutherkirche in Bonn since 2016. He was awarded 1st prize at the international organ competitions in Zurich (2011) and Korschenbroich (2017). A busy concert schedule has taken him throughout Germany and Europe. In 2014, the CD “Flight” was released, which he recorded together with Heiner Wiberny, saxophonist of the WDR Big Band.
Together they have put together an exciting program under the title Jewish Rhapsody with works by composers G. Gershwin, I. Stravinsky, J. Horovitz, L. Bernstein and A. Copland. You will also hear a Klezmer suite – music that comes from a long Jewish tradition and is nowadays often heard at festivals or weddings.
We are looking forward to your visit!
